![]() ![]() Since the furnace is over the master bedroom we can hear when/if the furnace ignites. ![]() The troubleshooting chart lists three possible causes: failure to establish flame, loss of flame after establishment, or insufficient conditioned air over the heat exchanger. The control module diagnostic LED flashes once. Then after an hour it tries again and usually starts. After three attempts it goes into its safety lockout mode. It's apparent in the morning when the thermostat calls for heat at 5:30 AM, but I believe the problem happens at other times of the day as well (however we're not upstairs much during the daytime). The attic furnace will periodically fail to ignite. It's controlled by a Robertshaw 9600 programmable thermostat. The furnace in the attic is a Goodman GMS8 single stage unit and is about a year and a half old, as is the house. ![]() The background: two story colonial in northeast Massachusetts with 2 Goodman LP gas furnaces, one furnace for each floor. ![]()
